Tim Petit, from Middletown, Rhode Island, heard an ad about a $640 pink limited-edition Trump-themed watch from GetTrumpWatches.com. He decided to surprise his wife, Melanie, with it. However, things turned to disappointment – and tears – as the watch arrived, per NBC10. just thought it was really nice. It was beautiful. “I’m very disappointed. I wanted to do a special thing for her,” Petit told the news outlet. “And we expected that it would have the integrity of the President of the United States and good follow-through.”
He added, “An apology would be nice for making my wife cry.” GetTrumpWatches.com markets the products as “official watches” of President Trump, though the fine print states that the Trump name and likeness are only licensed.

As of Tuesday, Petit had been trying to reach the website’s owners several times but was not satisfied with the lack of response. However, after NBC10 reached out to the company’s customer service, things began to move.
In the end, Petit got the watch replaced. The company apologized and also offered him an $800 coupon for something else.
